There are two baseball leagues in America, The National League (NL) which was formed in 1876 and the American League (AL) which was formed in 1901. A total of 26 teams make up the two leagues and after a regular season of 162 matches against other teams in their own league, a series of play-offs decides which teams shall represent each league in the best-of-seven World Series.
